Hey everyone, just a heads up! Hands Across the Sand is coming to beaches worldwide on Saturday, June 25th!

Thousands of individuals from all walks of life will gather to show their support for our coasts, oceans, and marine wildlife and demonstrate opposition to offshore oil and gas development that harms our ocean ecosystems. Oil spills worldwide harm local marine animal populations causing serious harm to ecosystem productivity, affecting fisheries, fishing communities, and coastal communities with economies dependent on the ocean. Expanding offshore oil will not help the global economy—investment in clean energy is the way to go.

So what does Hands Across the Sand hope to accomplish?

Hands sends a powerful visual message of human solidarity to our nation’s leaders. We are unified in the defense of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we consume from dangerous, dirty energy sources. Every time we join hands that message is reinforced. It’s simple and logical. Embrace clean energy. A line in the sand is a powerful thing.

You can read more about Hands Across the Sand on their website.
